Some people celebrate a 30th anniversary by sharing pearls. At the Fall Jefferson Swap Meet, organizers will celebrate their event’s 30th anniversary at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds in Jefferson, Wis., with two rarer gems: a special pair of Hupmobiles.

The event will be held Sept. 29-30 and feature a one-of-a-kind 1939 Hupmobile Skylark convertible and a prototype 1938 Hupmobile Skylark sedan. Both restored cars are owned by Tom Hincz of Kenosha, Wis., and will be displayed in the main building of the fairgrounds. Also look for a rarely seen string of other Hupmobiles to be shown in the car show area on Sunday near the main building.

Cars and trucks of all makes and models are welcomed to join the car show area on Sept. 30. This show is first come, first served, and space is limited. Vehicles built before 1976, and specialty vehicles, are invited to participate in this section of the show.

As exciting as the special Hupmobile display is expected to be, the Fall Jefferson Swap Meet’s strength remains in its popular swap meet and car corral, which are open all weekend. Here, people clear their garages of parts and cars before the Wisconsin snow flies, and deals are everywhere.

Spectator gates for the swap meet and car corral open Friday from 1-7 p.m., Saturday 6 a.m.-4 p.m. and Sunday from 6 a.m.-4 p.m. On Sunday, the car show gate opens at 6 a.m.
