Hot August Nights marks silver anniversary

Recognized as the largest classic car and nostalgia festival in the United States, Hot August Nights is back for another year and celebrating its 25th anniversary.

Hot August Nights includes two venues in 2011. The first stop is South Lake Tahoe from Aug. 6-9. The real, original Hot August Nights then takes to the streets of Reno and Sparks from Aug. 9-14. Venues at both locations will be hosting cruises, show-n-shines, swap meets, auctions, and numerous other activities. More than 800,000 people visit Reno for Hot August Nights.

Classic cars may be the focus of Hot August Nights, but they are only part of what will be going on. All the casinos, restaurants, and other adult entertainment establishments will be be catering to the crowds. There will be numerous free rock 'n roll concerts, plus lots of other 50s and 60s themed entertainment to keep you rockin' all week long.

In addition, the Official Hot August Nights Classic Car Drag Racing event will take place from Aug. 10-13. This year marks 10 years since the drags took place and the smell of burning rubber burnouts and gasoline, paired with classic eye candy and high risky racing will certainly be an adrenaline rush.

Official Hot August Nights Classic Car Auction expected to be better than ever for 2011

One of the most popular attractions during the Hot August Nights event is the Classic Car Auction, with rare collectibles/memorabilia and over 600 classic and collector auction cars moving across the block. The one and only 2011 Hot August Nights Classic Car Auction will be managed and produced by B & T Specialty Classic Car Auctions.

B & T Custom Rod and Restoration and Specialty Auto Auctions have both been heavily involved with Hot August Nights and the Classic Car Auction for many years and have recently formed a strategic partnership, working together to provide one of the best Classic Car Auctions that Hot August Nights has ever seen.

As custom dictates, the Reno-Sparks Hot August Nights Classic Car Auction will take place at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center from Aug. 11-14.

The South Lake Tahoe Classic Car Auction will go from Aug. 6-7 at the MontBleu Resort and Casino.
