Stars, cars and memorabilia announced for Motostalgia
As if the 75+ collector cars already announced for the Motostalgia Auction d’Elegance was not enough, the organizers of one of the most highly-anticipated auction events announced the extraordinary addition of the 1977 Shadow DN8 Formula One Race Car.

AUSTIN, Texas – As if the 75+ collector cars already announced for the Motostalgia Auction d’Elegance was not enough, the organizers of one of the most highly-anticipated auction events announced the extraordinary addition of the 1977 Shadow DN8 Formula One Race Car, a vehicle which plays a role in the rivalry portrayed in this year’s blockbuster film “Rush” and on the track by race car legends James Hunt and Niki Lauda.

In addition to the unbelievable array of collector cars Motostalgia also announced celebrity appearances. Actor Val Kilmer, “The Raging Bull” himself Jake LaMotta, performance artist David Garibaldi, actress Nichole Galicia (Django), Michael Jackson’s fashion designer Michael Bush and actor Rick Yune (Fast and Furious) will appear throughout the weekend at the Motostalgia Showcase and VIP Gala.
Motostalgia has created three events throughout the US Grand Prix weekend for collector car and race enthusiasts including the Motostalgia Showcase Nov. 15-16 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. at the Austin Convention Center. The vintage-themed Motostalgia VIP Gala will take place the evening of Nov. 15 attended by a Who’s Who in the car collecting and racing world and is presented by Zoltan David, known for their luxurious and exquisite previous metal art jewelry using only conflict free diamonds and responsible precious metals. The Motostalgia Auction d’Elegance, the cornerstone of all the excitement, will begin at 4 p.m. CST on Saturday at the Austin Convention Center and bidders from around the globe will go fast and furious in bidding on the incredible automobiles being offered.
“Everyone’s Driven by Something” is the tagline for this year’s blockbuster Ron Howard film “Rush” about the 1976 Formula One Season. Driven only by the extraordinary, Motostalgia has announced the addition of the 1977 Shadow DN8 Formula 1 race car, a vehicle which played a significant role in the rivalry portrayed in the film and on the track by race car legends James Hunt and Niki Lauda. The 1977 Shadow DN8 Formula One race car unfolds a dynamic history of a Formula One season that had all the theatrics of an Oscar-winning film.
The Austrian Grand Prix Winner is the latest addition to the collection of 75+ cars included in Motostalgia, one of the world’s most exciting collector car auctions to take place during the US Grand Prix weekend in Austin on Nov. 16 beginning at 4 p.m. at the Austin Convention Center.
Other collector cars being offered include a diverse range including Tazio Nuvolari’s 1950 Cistalia-Abarth, a Duesenberg from the Great Gatsby era, a Pur Sang Bugatti Type 51, a 1998 Ferrari once driven by Michael Schumacher, a 1989 Lamborghini Countach Limited Edition, a 1930s Rolland Pilain and many more.
Motostalgia also announced the addition of rare automobile and celebrity memorabilia including a necklace from the movie Titanic, jewelry owned by Marilyn Monroe, a Smith and Wesson gun, serial numbered 62618 from Wyatt Earp and other artifacts and items. Many other historic and iconic pieces will be on display throughout the weekend at the Motostalgia Showcase. The Motostalgia Showcase, one of the three events being presented by Motostalgia during the US Grand Prix weekend will also feature luxury and lifestyle brands amidst the exhibit of the 75+ vehicles.
Recognized brands like Mercedes, Tesla, Aston Martin, Bentley and others will showcase their latest models alongside these rare legends of the road. Weekend passes for the Motostalgia Showcase are $25, and the first 2,000 ticket buyers get a free pair of noise-reducing earmuffs, ideal for a few hours out at an F1 race.
Motostalgia’s vintage-themed VIP Gala presented by Zoltan David will begin at 6 p.m. on Nov. 15, where guests are encouraged to dress in their favorite attire from the 20s to the 60s.
