Ken Ligenfelter stuffed a 660-hp engine package under the hood of the Karl Kustom Corvettes 67 Coupe (www.karlchevrolet.com) he had at the Chicago Auto Show. At first glance, the Pacific Blue car looked like a big-block ’67 Corvette, but there was a 2008 ‘Vette underneath.
Ligenfelter also brought a red ‘14 ‘Vette fitted with his 550-hp 6.2-liter V-8 engine package. It featured a 6-speed manual gearbox, Ligenfelter CNC ported and polished LT1 heads, a Ligenfelter hydraulic roller camshaft from Competition Cams, a ported and polished throttle body, a Ligenfelter C7 high-flow air intake, Kooks headers, custom LPE Forgeline wheels and Continental tires.
Ligenfelter is anxious to tear down a 2014 Sting Ray to hot rod it. He also said he’ll check his 2014 show schedule for the possibility of coming to Old Cars Weekly’s hometown for the Iola Old Car Show (www.iolaoldcarshow.com) in July. With Iola featuring four-doors, his Silverado Reaper pickup will fit right in.
