’40 Lincoln convertible part of 3-day Mo. auction

This 1940 Lincoln Continental Convertible, one of only 350 ever
produced, carries an older restoration, but is in very good condition.
Altogether, 14 vehicles up for bid are listed as restorable, while
the majority are listed as parts vehicles.

A 1940 Lincoln Continental Convertible and a 1921 Ford Model TT fire truck are among the unusual items up for bid this weekend in Liberty, Missouri. The three-day estate auction of the late Don Barnes will be held Thursday, Friday and Saturday, May 28-30 at the former Ole Bill’s Museum located on Hwy. 291 just north of Kansas City, Mo. The museum was operated by Barnes and his wife Eve. The museum includes items the couple had collected for nearly 60 years.

There will be multiple auction rings throughout all three days of the sale, which begins at 8:30 a.m. each day.

Included in the lineup are fourteen vehicles (including the Lincoln) listed as older restorations or in restorable condition. More than 150 are listed as “project cars & trucks”, more valuable for parts than future restorations.

Also listed are several buggies, a horse drawn hearse, a horse drawn circus wagon, steam engine, Detroit Electric Car, stationary ‘hit and miss’ gas engines, tractors, and a variety of country collectibles.
