July 17.
The Appleton Old Car Show and Swap Meet will celebrate its 34th Anniversary by commemorating 100 years of Chevrolet. This year’s show will be held on July 17 at historic Pierce Park in Appleton, Wis. The car show is open to collector cars 1980 and older and is expected to draw 1,000 to 1,200+ collector cars from throughout the Midwest.
Chevrolets are this year’s feature cars and are expected to be well represented. Over the years, Chevrolet has designed some of the most sought-after collector cars that were popular when new and are even more popular today. Chevrolet owners are encouraged to share their cars and camaraderie with others who have the same passion for a marque that has withstood the ages with great designs and innovative features. There are not many who can say they never rode in a Chevrolet sometime in their lifetime. Whether it be the famous Chevrolet 6, 283, 327, or 409 V-8’s, or models such as the Bel Airs and Impalas – and the iconic Corvette.
The Appleton Old Car Show and Swap Meet is free to attend for both spectators and car show participants. Show hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
For the 20th year, the Fox Valley Street Rod Association will hold “Valve Cover Races” on a professionally built track designed to race gravity-powered valve covers side by side in two separate lanes. Racers of all ages can participate in this family activity.
On July 16, the Saturday evening before the big show, 103.9/WVBO will host the 17th Annual Classic Car Show and Cruise event on the grounds of Appleton’s Fox Valley Technical College Campus in Appleton from 3-6 p.m.
