RALEIGH, N.C. _ On Friday, Dec. 9, the North Carolina Museum of Art will host a special “hoods up” day in the current exhibition Rolling Sculpture: Art Deco Cars from the 1930s and ’40s, during which visitors will be able to see under the hoods of a selection of the featured cars.

WHEN: Friday, December 9, 10 am to 9 pm

WHERE: North Carolina Museum of Art, East Building, Meymandi Gallery

CARS: The following art deco cars will have their hoods up:

  • 1930 Ruxton Model C Sedan
  • 1933 Pierce-Arrow Silver Arrow
  • 1935 Chrysler Imperial Model C-2 Airflow
  • 1935 Bugatti Aérolithe
  • 1936 Peugeot 402 Darl’mat Coupe
  • 1938 Talbot-Lago T-150C-SS Teardrop
  • 1938 Delahaye 135M Figoni Roadster

PRICE: Exhibition tickets cost:

  • $19 Adults
  • $16 Seniors (65+), military, groups of 10+, college students with current ID
  • $13 Youth 7-18
  • Free: Members (first visit), children 6 and under,
    college students on Friday nights 5-9 pm (with current ID)

OTHER IMPORTANT DATES:

  • Monday, December 26: The Museum’s East Building (including Rolling Sculpture) will be OPEN from 10 am to 5 pm. (West Building will be closed.) The Museum is normally closed on Mondays.
  • Sunday, January 15: Rolling Sculpture closing date
