M1 concourse groundbreaking reveal ceremony set for new state-of-the-art event center & restaurant facility -September 1st. Plans are for the facility to open fall of 2021.
Pontiac, MI – M1 Concourse in Metro Detroit announced that it will host a groundbreaking reveal ceremony to celebrate the start of construction for their new state-of-the-art Event Center and Restaurant facility. The groundbreaking reveal will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at 11:00 a.m., with a pre-reveal reception starting at 10:00 a.m. with food and beverages. Following the reveal, thrill rides around Champion Motor Speedway will be available to attendees. The groundbreaking reveal ceremony will be open to media only, with advance R.S.V.P. required since this event will have limited capacity. M1 Concourse is located at 1 Concourse Drive, on the northwest corner of Woodward Avenue and South Boulevard in Pontiac.
M1 Concourse’s team is moving forward with the development of a 28,500 square foot state-of-the-art event center and restaurant facility located immediately adjacent to the Champion Motor Speedway along Pit Lane. The new entertainment center will be open to the public and will create one of the most unique event and restaurant experiences in the Midwest. The event center will play host to a variety of events including vehicle launches, charitable event galas, fashion and lifestyle showcases, and significant automotive and technology expositions. The Motorsports themed restaurant will provide one of the best dining and viewing experiences in southeastern Michigan.
The Restaurant will occupy two stories of the facility and feature both indoor and outdoor patio seating, two full-service bars, and an upper level deck offering stunning views of the Champion Motor Speedway. There is also a sealed cigar lounge planned for the upper level of the restaurant. The event center will feature spectacular views from the 6,325 SF ballroom that can be broken up into individual spaces of 1,666 SF, 2,757 SF, and 1,902 SF. The space will also feature a large 2,281 SF lobby that will provide state-of-the-art audio and video capabilities. The interior event space can host up to 500 individuals. A full-service kitchen is planned to provide the highest quality food and service by top culinary chefs for all scheduled events and in-restaurant dining. There will also be an M1 Concourse Gift Shop within the Event Center space that will feature many unique items for auto enthusiasts.
M1 Concourse is located on the site of the former General Motors manufacturing facility in Pontiac, Michigan. M1 Concourse hosts public events throughout the year including Cars and Coffee car shows, Open Track Days, and Roadkill Nights presented by Motor Trend and Dodge, to name a few. Upon completion of the fourth phase of garage construction in spring 2021, there will be over 250 secure Private Garages that allow for flexible storage and entertainment space. M1 Concourse features the Champion Motor Speedway, a 1.5-mile performance track with its own private Motorsports Club.
