Ault Park features Red Hot Rides

CINCINNATI — The annual Ault Park Concours d’ Elegance Countryside Tour will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2011. The event begins with an informal car display at noon at Mariemont Square, followed by a scenic round-trip tour alongside rivers and creeks, stopping to visit a large collection of historic fire engines at 1 p.m.

The privately owned collection is spread over several acres and features vehicles that range from pristine to unrestored. Some of the makes represented include: Cincinnati’s own Ahrens-Fox, Seagrave, REO, American LaFrance, Pirsch, and even an International fire tractor. Many were in service with local fire companies, including Cincinnati, Kettering, Oakwood, Campbell County, Mack, Monroe and Norwood.

The Ault Park Concours d’ Elegance will be held on Sunday, June 12, 2011, at Cincinnati’s historic Ault Park. Red Hot Rides: Ferraris & Fire Engines, the featured marque, represents an exceptional display of vintage and modern Ferraris and rare and antique fire engines. Additionally there will be special displays representing the 100th Anniversary of the Indianapolis 500, the 50th Anniversary of the Jaguar XKE, and “Wagons Ho,” family station wagons celebrating the 85th Anniversary of Route 66. The Ault Park Concours includes 13 other classes of automobiles ranging from full classics, to racecars and modern supercars.

Other weekend events include the “Cruisin’ for a Cure” fundraising event at the Glendale Lyceum on Friday, June 10, 2011; Garage Party at Porsche of the Village at 5 pm Saturday, June 11.
