Boca Raton to auction five 50th Anniversary Shelbys

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The sixth annual Boca Raton Concours d’ Elegance presented by Mercedes-Benz will auction five limited-edition 50th Anniversary Shelby vehicles and first-delivery in the United States exotic cars during a live auction on Feb. 25 at the Black-Tie Optional Gala held at the Boca Raton Resort & Club in Boca Raton.

Guests will have the opportunity to own the very first of some of the very first all new exotic cars delivered in America including the 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG, the 2012 Lamborghini Aventador, the 2012 McLaren MP4-12C, the 2012 Fiat 500 Abarth Turbo, and the 2012 Audi R8 V10 GT Spyder – one of only 50 made for the United States and the only one in brilliant red.

Additionally, five special edition 50th Anniversary Shelby Cobras & Mustangs will be auctioned including a 1962 Special Edition Cobra 289 CSX8992 (one of only 50 made); two 1965 Special Edition Cobra 427s – a CSX6063 and a CSX6100, custom built to the winning bidder’s specifications; an 800 horsepower 2012 Shelby GT-500 Super Snake (one of only 50 made), and a 2012 Shelby GT-350 (also one of only 50 made), all benefiting the Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County.

The sixth annual Boca Raton Concours d’ Elegance is honoring the 50th Anniversary of the Shelby Cobra and James Bond and the upcoming 100th Anniversary of Aston Martin with a tremendous commemoration on Feb. 24-26.

On Feb. 24, the duPont Registry Live! Hangar Party kicks off the weekend. Guests can indulge in libations and tastings from some of South Florida’s hottest restaurants, preview luxury vendors featuring jewelry, art and more, and peruse a display of exotic and classic automobiles, motorcycles, airplanes, boats, motor coaches, and business and private jets. This year the event is proud to feature the magnificent world-renowned collection of Michael Fux’s one-off exotic cars.

Febr. 25 features the James Bond themed Black-Tie Optional Gala hosted at the Boca Raton Resort & Club, featuring original James Bond vehicles and memorabilia on display courtesy of the Dezer Collection. Guests will enjoy a cocktail hour with a silent auction, followed by a sit down dinner featuring a live auction with items such as the first in the country new exotic cars and money-can’t-buy-these luxury, one-of-a-kind packages. The evening’s festivities include the presentation of the Lee Iacocca Award to Bob and Paul Milhous, the Automotive Lifetime Achievement Awards to Carroll Shelby, Edsel Ford and John Staluppi, and a performance by Emmy Award-winning comedian Dana Carvey, followed by a Casino Royale after-party.

The Concours on Sunday, Feb. 26 concludes the weekend festivities with an Automobile and Motorcycle Exhibition that spans all eras. Car and motorcycle fanatics from around the world will get to experience an automotive showcase featuring cars and motorcycles from the past 100 years on the brand new, expanded Sunday Concours showfield, exclusively redesigned by the Boca Raton Resort & Club.
