Cadillacs gather at Gilmore
Cadillac aficionados turned out Labor Day weekend for the inaugural show
Two prewar Buicks stopped for service at Gilmore's vintage Shell gas station.
Cadillac aficionados turned out Labor Day weekend for the inaugural Cadillacs at Gilmore car show and fun-fest.
Coming just five months after the Cadillac LaSalle Club Museum and Research Center opened the Cadillac Gallery in rented quarters at the Gilmore Car Museum in Hickory Corners, Mich., the event provided about 200 people with the chance to see Cadillac's new museum and relax on the beautiful Gilmore campus. More than 50 Cadillacs ranging from the 1930s to the early 1990s were displayed on the quadrangle in front of the Blue Moon Diner.
The show was not judged so all enjoyed the typical car show informal discussions regarding each one's favorite cars and information exchange to aid the project back home.
In addition, those attending received an update from Museum president Paul Ayres and Cadillac & LaSalle Club president Lars Kneller on the plans for a new building to be built by the Museum as its permanent home on Gilmore grounds.
