Carlisle expands with land, building purchase

Job seekers and businesses alike could benefit from the purchase of a 48-acre manufacturing campus by Carlisle Events

CARLISLE, Pa. – Carlisle Events, one of the world’s largest presenters of collector car, truck and motorcycle entertainment, has purchased the 48-acre manufacturing facility, formerly known as the IAC Industrial Campus, located at 50 Spring Road in Carlisle, Pa.

The property consists of nearly one million square feet of usable building space, a 23-acre paved and lighted parking lot, 25-acre fenced site with multiple buildings suited for multi-tenant occupancy and a railway spur served by Norfolk Southern Railway (NSRR). NSRR has trackage rights over Amtrak's Northeast Corridor from Philadelphia to Washington, D.C. and provides service between Hagerstown and Harrisburg, Harrisburg and Perryville, and the Delmarva Route from Wilmington to Pocomoke City.

Bill Miller Jr., co-owner of Carlisle Events, stated, “This is an exciting time for Carlisle Events. While U.S. manufacturing is struggling in today’s economy, American’s passion for the automobile is strong and has allowed us the opportunity to expand our business ventures in a way that could benefit our local economy. We are actively seeking tenants who wish to lease the facility in part or as a whole. Located minutes from Rt. 11, I-76 and I-81, we firmly believe the South Central Pennsylvania location has tremendous opportunity for development. We look forward to working with various entities, aftermarket businesses and OEM manufacturers as we pursue leasing options for the property in the months to come.”

“Our events draw over a half million automotive enthusiasts annually and we contribute over 98 million dollars to the local economy,” added Lance Miller, co-owner of Carlisle Events. “We were bursting at the seams. Carlisle Events has experienced substantial growth over the last 36 years and this purchase seemed like the next logical step in the evolution of our company. The ability to use a portion of the property to provide ample parking for our guests throughout the car show season is beneficial to our future. With the recently acquired property adjacent to the fairgrounds, it provides the perfect location for automotive-based entities who wish to reach our customers throughout the year and have a central location on the East Coast for sales and distribution.”

Carlisle Events’ total footprint in Carlisle will reach more than 150 acres, which include the Carlisle Fairgrounds, Carlisle Expo Center and newly purchased manufacturing campus. Philadelphia-based commercial real estate firm, CB Richard Ellis Inc. represented the seller, International Automotive Components, during the sale of the property.
