Car enthusiasts head to Maryland this Saturday

Rockville’s annual Antique and Classic Car Show is Oct. 17.

More than 400 antique and classic automobiles will be on display.

The annual event will be held 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on the grounds of Glenview Mansion at Rockville Civic Center Park, and feature 24 Washington, D.C., area car clubs, from Alfa Romeo to Studebaker. The Rockville Antique and Classic Car Show Committee strives to exhibit motor vehicles of the highest standard of preservation and restoration, and is recognized as a premier non-judged motor vehicle show in the region.

The Rockville Antique and Classic Car Show is now in its 48th year and attracts the best antique and classic cars in the Mid-Atlantic region. The show generally features between 400 and 500 show cars and it attracts about 5,000 visitors.

This year, the Special Display for the 2009 Antique and Classic Car Show will be the Italian Vehicle Display.

The show will also feature the people’s choice and Rockville Mayor and Council awards ceremony, and a performance by the Rockville Swing Band.
